And so another edition of the Feira do Livro do Porto has come to an end. Seventeen intense days of new reads, discoveries and encounters filled the Palácio de Cristal Gardens, rain or shine, between 21 August and 6 September.

This year, the event, which combines bookshops, second-hand book sellers, publishers, and cultural institutions with an ambitious cultural programme, featured 144 exhibitors and over 200 activities. As in previous years, the selection of exhibitors was defined by its diversity and abundancy, designed to appeal to every kind of reader, young and seasoned, with works in multiple languages spanning all genres. The programme also grew and broadened. In addition to the usual talks and roundtables, the venue’s various stages hosted 8 book presentations, 3 exhibitions, and 21 concerts. The event’s largest Children and Youth programme to date featured 83 sessions in varied artistic fields and expressions.

Part of the programme was, of course, dedicated to this edition’s honouree, Porto-born poet Inês Lourenço, whose body of work stretches over more than 40 years and comprises 20 books of poetry and microfiction. Life and art were revisited and celebrated, with detail and sensibility, across 14 initiatives ranging from staged readings and debates to concerts, sound installations and dance performances.

In the first two days of the event alone, 41 thousand people had already visited the Palácio de Cristal Gardens – 7 thousand more than in 2025.
