Cycle “O poema é um animal invencível, ele é a vitória da linguagem”
Programmed by João Gesta
A verse by poet Nuno Brito inspires this cycle of seven special sessions, included in the Feira do Livro do Porto programme.
To the sound of birdsong, words flow freely in the Palácio de Cristal Gardens.
Seven challenging, intense and varied sessions. A programme built around the celebration of the word. The spoken word, the sung word, the fluid word.
The word fills our hearts, challenging us to dream.
Isaque Ferreira walks the library’s hidden corners in search of a place where poetry surrounds a single theme. Drawing on books and similar items, unusual documents, forms, and manuscripts, magazines and newspapers, all rescued from a fleeting existence, to the sound of other voices echoing from the wonders of vinyl… All favourable to the lyrical tapping of these shoes. In this same context, the literary script finds a parallel visual echo in
Ímpar, a photographic work by
Olga Santos, projected to the sound of an arrangement by
José Lima. This is a journey through shoes, their relatives (slippers, clogs, boots, trainers…), heels, soles, buckles and laces. All carried along by the steadiness of feet, on a stroll, a promenade and in poetry.
