Synopsis

Cycle “A música vinha duma mansidão de consciência”

After two highly-acclaimed music books and a decade of concerts across the country, for the green and ripe alike, the Mão Verde quartet (comprised of Capicua, Francisca Cortesão, António Serginho, and Pedro Geraldes) went back to the studio to create ten new songs and two new poems which they’re now playing live.

Taking a playful and poetic approach, both musically (by experimenting with new styles) and lyrically (by playfully tackling serious themes), this new album was built on collaboration and experimentation and published as an annotated book, contextualising lyrics and poems, all beautifully illustrated by the talented Bernardo Carvalho.

Mão Verde’s third work broadens the project’s scope, complementing ecology themes with similarly urgent issues, like social and gender inequality, ableism and other forms of discrimination, democracy, the housing crisis and the importance of empathy and community.

It’s the group’s contribution to important family chats, plenty of school projects, and lively performances enjoyed with family and friends – because, after all, the future belongs to children, and we’re counting on them to (re)think the world.

Having fun is a guarantee at this concert, which will feature the new set of songs and a walk down memory lane to revisit some old classics. In this interactive and high-energy show for all ages, you’ll dance and cut loose like no one is watching, sing about serious topics with a smile, and be encouraged to think freely and ask endless questions.

Bring the little ones along – it’s going to be a massive party!
