Synopsis

Cycle “A música vinha duma mansidão de consciência”

Viana do Castelo-born and Porto-based artist Carolina Viana (MALVA) burst onto the music scene with redoma, a duo she formed with producer Joana Rodrigues. The desire to release solo work stemmed from a lingering restlessness to take sole responsibility for her voice. MALVA emerges as a result of that quest for individual experimentation and has already produced two records: 2023’s vens ou ficas and 2025’s poros.

Beatriz Madruga is a guitarist from Porto who made her solo debut in 2022 with the album Oxalá. This breakthrough reflected Madruga’s need to reinvent herself and, as the name suggests, her urgent desire to see and show herself to the world, at the break of dawn.

MALVA and Breatriz Madruga, who was part of MALVA’s band in 2025, will bring a special concert to the Feira do Livro do Porto, featuring tracks from both acts’ existing and forthcoming repertoires. A collaboration that reflects their artistic relationship and the affinities that inform their creative journeys.
